the Project X Guitar Course Seems to Cut Through The B.S. of Learning to play Better Guitar
2 John // Mar 28, 2008 at 5:03 pm
From this short video, the teacher speaks and plays slowly and clearly so that the language can be understood, the movements are easy to see, and the graphics shows which strings and which frets are being used to play the notes. Simplicity is the building block of all art, and playing guitar is most definitely an art. I can see where anyone wanting to learn to play music on guitar could benefit greatly from Project X.

wow, never heard of that before, guess that proves i dont have an instructor or dont know much about how to play the guitar, this would help me out because i dont really have the time or money to hire an instructor to teach me how to play the guitar, and it would also help me because it gives me the opportunity to watch it over and over again to pick up the things i missed the first few times.

Project x Course fits me perfectly because I’ve always been a project x at learning the guitar! Still don’t know what I’m doing, frustrated and nothing has worked to date! Guitar teachers have stated to me your guitar playing and approach is a project x to me. You need to find someone else to try to teach you because I can’t help! So you can see I need to win Project X to finally have a chance to learn what I need to do to learn how to play the guitar! After winning and using the Guitar X course I can go back to my former short lived guitar teachers and say look what this Project Guitar X course has transformed me into a real guitar player you couldn’t or wouldn’t even try to do with me. So please kiss my project x course because it is a way anyone can learn to play guitar and I didn’t need guitar teachers like you that gave up on me. All I needed was the Project x Course to set me free to learn the guitar!!! Larry Baker – Tulsa, Oklahoma God Bless the USA -come on let someone from America’s Heartland win for once!!! What do you say Andrew? Please!

Project X seems like the course I need. I’ve heard of the caged system, but don’t really know what it is. Hopefully I can win a copy of this course so that I can improve my guitar playing.

As John said above, the teacher speaks slowly and clearly and gives good explanations. I have heard of the pentatonic scale, but after watching this short video, it makes more sense. Imagine after viewing the whole course. I believe that a course such as this will clear up a lot of muddy water and open a few doors. It is my sense that this course will teach techniques as well as the various scales and modes. Then, after learning that, students will be able to use this knowledge to develop on their own.

Once again proving a point, “You can teach an old dog new tricks” with your videos Andrew! Simple and to the point. I can do this!
Thanks

Very clear explanation of scales, with the obvious end result being targeted at enjoying music, not treating the learning of music as a chore. All of us are learning to play guitar for the love of the music, and the love of the instrument. Most other teaching formats tend to add more stress, instead of making the student feel relaxed enough to enjoy it. Nice job.
14 gideon Louis // Mar 29, 2008 at 5:41 am
With the fretboard tabs of the major and minor pentatonic scale clearly shown above the guitar fretboard and a close view of the guitar strings makes learning totally easier plus the slow picking of the scale notes along with tutor’s voice explanation, i can see wher to land my fingers . I like this because I don’t have to switch to another window to view tabs . everthing is found just by watching and focusing in one place , the end result ease in learning leads to better practice and playing.

If you want to play, you’ve got to work. Work takes muscle. What better way to increase muscle memory than repitition of clear concise instruction. Thanks for the help. Every lesson equals more muscle.

This looks like a very to the point method of teaching. The diagram inset along with actual playing provides the visual help a beginner like myself needs. Combining the visual aspect with easy to understand verbal instruction appears to cover all bases. Learning as an adult means getting the most out of minimal practice time, and this system just might fit the bill!

Hey.. Really amazing video, pretty much straght to the theme. Truly a must watch for beginners (like myself!!). The explanation of the scales is impeccable… Really helpful!!
Here is a site containing lessons which’ve been helping me:
http://guitarheat.com/lessons
Maybe it can help other beginners too!

I believe that Project X will help me become a better guitarist, because all the scales and exercises are clearly shown, and I can go back over something again if there is anything I am not sure about. I look forward to seeing the whole course.
19 Conrad // Mar 29, 2008 at 7:58 am
Straight instruction, clear visuals and no long winded explanations.
20 Raymond // Mar 29, 2008 at 8:09 am
You know I have been playing guitar for years and yet I don’t know any scales. Maybe that’s why I don’t play as well as I should. You have sent me some lessons on scales, but I haven’t sat down and try to learn them. I have joined a band, but I feel inadequate playing with them, as I feel that I am letting them down. I know the songs, it just that iln some of the songs, I have to play a little of the lead riffs, and I have a hard time learning these. I want the ability to play any song anytime and just be able to fit right in with the bandmates that I play with. I think that Project X, will inprove my knowledge and to do better playing in the band.
21 Jock // Mar 29, 2008 at 9:53 am
As an old dog trying to learn new tricks, this type of lesson is excellent. There are too many guitar teachers spending more time showing off their skills, instead of helping to improve ours!
22 Carl // Mar 29, 2008 at 11:30 am
From watching the short video i can tell that project x will help me learn those scales that are hard as a beginner learning the guitar and because the lesson is delivered slowly so that you can keep up it will help those people who learn at a slow pace (like myself), i believe that project x will help me learn those hard to grasp technques and skills i’ll need to play in a band.
23 Rick West // Mar 29, 2008 at 12:42 pm
Can’t really tell from the short video if this would be usefull or not, but it did look good and sounded clear.

I would love to see some of you stuff up close I always follow your stuff but am always reluctant to put my credit details on the net woul pay cash if I could really see the quality
25 JD Fullager // Mar 29, 2008 at 10:26 pm
This seems really easy to learn . I see there is no RUSHING to it and it is at ease, this is how I really would love to learn . It really takes patience from the teacher give the interest also to a student and would really love to see it in its entirety. There seems to be a real honesty to this & think that even the most uninterested would love this to give them the real drive to learn …BRAVO ! ..keep it up man !…J.D. St. Catharines ON. CANADA.

Wow!Project X is amazing! From what I’ve seen I figured out it’s the best learning tool a guitarist can have.I’ve been playing for 3 years on and off, learning myself because I don’t have a lot of money and in my city you can’t even find 1 guitarist’s book!I’ve been learning techniques and reading tabs from different sites and forums but now I’m in a bad position with the scales and modes.I bet this would be an amazing source of knowledge concerning the guitar so keep up the,not good, but great work!

as ive learned playing guitar from books and cant afford a tutor i think project x would help a great deal, a friend of mine used to help as he played guitar for approx 27yrs but passed away 2 yrs ago now i just practice by the use of books and watching people play on tv and picking up chords and using them with what i already know

I have always been a big believer in the KISS (Keep It Simple, Stupid)method of learning. From the video it seems Project X follows this theme and might actually be able to penetrate even the dense forrest that is my mind. I have been trying to learn and apply the scales to my playing for so long that I can no longer see the forrest for the trees.
29 Wayne Thomley // Mar 30, 2008 at 9:40 am
It has always been difficult for me to learn and follow along with just printed material. I am a visual person. If you show me something, I can pick it up a lot easier. I noticed in the video that you show the printed chart along with the real life demo of the scale. That gives me a better understanding of how things should fit together and how fingerings should work. The instructor is very easy to understand and slow enough to follow along with. I could really understand this a lot better than many other courses I have tried. I believe anyone, from any level, could benifit from Project X. I hope I get the chance to try.

Project X and all the videos that I’ve seen from Guitar5day.com have been just as clear and concise as this one. On top of learning by doing, you get some music theory along with your lesson. Sort of hidden in the lesson. The whole course I’m sure gives great insite, music theory, clear useful video and is great for the hands on learner. I wish I had took more time with the guitar as an adolesent. Now it’s harder to learn this stuff without the help of people like this. Thank you Andrew Koblick for introducing me to this course.

This seems to be a simple “beginner friendly” way to quickly achieve the skill needed to actually play Guitar. It appears that this method will very quickly have the beginner at a level to take pride in achieving. Bob

I believe Project X can make me a better if not one of the best guitar players at my age of 41 because of its principle of learning by seeing and doing. When I was a kid, I learned my guitar basics from musicians who taught me one-on-one hands-on lectures and demos of their favorite tunes and how they learned the basics too. Now with the use of recent technology, Project X sort of does this learning and teaching technique with Xtra Special treatment, Xtra Special presentation with True Xperts at the helm! This is like an expert system where you have an expert teaching you a subject matter at your side all the time. This is the real Xtra Special Tool for all of us guitar players and music lovers and composers. A Chinese proverb said that “What you hear, you forget, what you see you remember, and what you do, you understand!”. Project X will not only make you remember what you see and hear but will also make you understand the Xtra Ordinary Steps and Principles with Xtra Special Time and Effort built into it. Thanks very much.

I hear a lot about the pentatonic scale – would love to see the rest of the video…
34 Trevor C // Mar 30, 2008 at 8:04 pm
Project X gives you the not only a simple visual presentation, but also an ability to train your hearing to the notes played. When combined will only enhance any persons playing ability. Project X obviously gives you a sense of confidence while learning which only makes you wish to learn more of what this product has to offer.

Always wanted to be able to play the guitar better. Was never able to afford formal lessons and especially now with a fixed income and a lot of time on my hands. The short videos of Project X shows me scale and finger movement I knew was possible but was never shown even from friends that play well. Your consideration for the Project X Course will be greatly appreciated.

I have played the guitar for 35 years. You think I would know how by now! I know the 5 basic patterns using pentatonic major and minor forms, but I just can’t seem to put it all together… specifically changing from one pattern to another without following the notes up the fretboard. I don’t have the “natural” ability to hear the notes and play them, therefore, I have to rely on forms and patterns. For the key of C, I would play pattern 1 starting on the 5th fret for the Major or the 8th fret for the Minor pentatonic scales. Really exciting to see an example of the caged system starting with the root chord (C) and the notes are close to and based from the I chord. I am intrigued!

hi, i m not very good at commenting but i must say, its a kind video which doesn’t waste time of a learner. IMPRESIVE WORK!
38 Drew H. // Mar 31, 2008 at 9:20 pm
I’ve been gigging in bands for 33 years, have been teaching guitar for over 20 and I still have issues with improvisation and lead playing. I play patterns and loops, but I think this Project X concept would take me to that “next level”. To the point where “if I can think it, I can play it”. Thanks for designing and building the whole concept into a package that is readily and easily understood. Thanks again.

I’ve been playing the guitar for 3 years now and have reached a plateau in my playing. I know some basic scales but cannot apply them anywhere. Hence I’m stuck at playing rhythm for all this while.
I think Project X will help me understand the following clearly:
1) scales and how to practically apply them and improvise
2) relationship between scales and chords – how to apply a scale/s over a chord progression
3) understanding and mastering the whole fretboard
cheers!

As someone who has been playing for some 40 years, I am always amazed at how much you can learn about things you thought you already knew.

Beginner guitar: I have only played guitar for about a year and I still consider myself as a beginner. I keep trying to expand my playing doing complicated riffs or tricks that seem to take a lot of skill when I have little consistency. This exercise has shown me that simple little notes that sound better together can do a whole lot more than hammering on the same few notes or playing notes that don’t compliment each other. Furthermore, many videos I have seen don’t specify exactly how to play the shown exercice as well as this video, with fingering and charts. I’m sure this DVD is going to be a hit. Thank you for all your hard work and continue strumming in our small world. Short and simple yet effective, always looking forward to more tips.
