How to play guitar

Here is a response to a question about the Project X guitar course and the demonstration by Keith of the 7 diatonic chords.

Also a new page: how to play guitar  has been added to the website.
Each scale has 7 notes
Do re mi Fa So la ti
1  2  3  4  5  6  7

A chord is made up of every other note.

1  3   5
2  4   6
3  5   7

etc.

So Each Major scale creates a
set of 7 chords.

So you can play the scale in Chords.

The C scale creates these chords:

C Major
d minor
e minor
F Major
G Major
a minor
b minor (Flat 5)

In Project X Keith refers to these as
the 7 diatonic chords.
because the Major scale is also known
as the diatonic scale system.

In theory the chords are:
Major   1  or I
minor   2  or ii
minor   3  or iii
Major   4  or IV
Major   5  or V
minor   6  or vi
minor (Flat 5) 7 or vii

The way in which a chord progression presents itself will reveal which Key the chords are  in.
