    loved the first seminar!

my question is when you are soloing over a I IV V pattern in the key of E, when you move to the IV chord, do you stay in the E scale or switch to the A scale for those bars? then to the B scale for the V bars?

    Hi!

Sadly I live abroad, and I’m working during the Tele Seminar Hours. Pity, but what can I do? Just continue studying and reading all emails sent from you, much obliged!

My question: (first and foremost) Ok, so let’s talk about the CAGED “method” or “system”. CAGED is well known and by many people confirmed that, it’s the best way to learn memorizing the fretboard, improvising, knowing what chords to use and such.

Question: Is really the CAGED method the ONLY method that proves best results? Can someone learn playing the guitar and never see CAGED? What might be the advantages and/or disadvantages of learning CAGED, vs. Learning a different approach?

In sum: If you could create a comparative table using:

CAGED vs Project X vs 1 or 2 other methods->

Would you be so kind to explain us what are the advantages and disadvantages (if so) on learning just the CAGED or just another other method (or not learning CAGED at all)?

My main issue here is that you find so many people/teachers/guitar players showing their own method as “the only one you’ll need” that I’m quite confused.

The rule for me is “just listen to one person/teacher and once you’ve completely learned, you could move onto other explanations and have your own conclusions”.

    Thanks!

    Hi there,
My question has to do with scales and modes. I’ve seen music in the key of, for example, G, and G dorian or G mixolydian used instead of A dorian or D mixolydian. I’ve asked this before and been told,”It depends on what sound or feeling your going for.” Can you explain why one would use a G based mode rather than the “appropriate” mode that corresponds to the chord that’s being played?
I hope I could make that somewhat clear; looking forward to the seminar.
    Thanks,
    Pete Hay
